Great location next to train station. Other reviews mentioned noise from train station. We did not notice a problem with such.

Salerno fro home by high speed train is pretty much non stop and fast. Salerno is also great to visit, great, shops, food people and is a fantastic and reasonable ferry prices at Amal’s and Positano within 25 mins. We stayed in Amalfi a ferried to and from salerno by train fro Roma.

A beautiful, peaceful city, with a very long center, various restaurants and shops, the sea is nearby, the promenade is very beautiful. There is a train station, it is close to Amalfi and Positano. Several times we did try to use buses - they are not reliable. Many stores do not have prices on the goods and each time the price is different. Locals treat you like a tourist.

Salerno is a nice city, it is a very good location to stay if you are planning to visit the Amalfi Coast by boat or bus, or to visit Pompei by train.
Lots of bar, pasticcerie, ristoranti and shops.
Unfortunately the beaches in town are very dirty, lots of rubbish, pity:(

We used Salerno as our base for day trips to Amalfi towns and Capri. It was an easy train ride down from Rome and we avoided the hassles of transferring off train to bus or ferry with luggage.
We did not get a chance to see Salerno sites. We left each day by ferry to other towns. The ferry rides were a great way to see the beautiful amalfi coastal towns.
Salerno offered plenty of dinner choices. Some parts of town are bright and busy. Some a little gritty and too much graffiti.
Day of departure we rented car and drove to Pompeii then up to Tuscany.

Salerno is a relaxed, peaceful city with excellent restaurants, a lively old town, and great access to other locations. It is much more economical and quieter than staying on the Amalfi Coast and is only a half hour ferry ride away from it.

Lovely big town with an old town, cobbled streets and lots...
Lovely big town with an old town, cobbled streets and lots of restaurants and bars. There is a large area of restricted traffic and parking is horrendous, even though it was April every single space along the streets and public car parks were taken. Luckily our apartment owner suggested she book us a space in a private garage and although it cost €25 per night it was well worth it. The port was within walking distance and we took a ferry to Amalfi Coast. Don’t even think about driving along the Amalfi coast as the traffic was horrendous and absolutely nowhere to park. A very busy over crowded coastline.
From the moment we arrived in Salerno it was wonderful - we were met by the property owner, Dario. Kind, sweet gentleman who walked us to the apartment. The apartment has absolutely everything you'll need for your stay - Dario left juice, water, liquor sweets etc to assist with settling in. It is spacious, clean, comfortable and located close to groceries, restaurants, ferries etc The apartment is also located in a very secure building. stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer. Thank you Dario for your hospitality 🙏
Convenience and accurate description of hotel on Booking.com.. We were driving from Lecce and decided to stop in Salerno for the night. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway with views of the bay. The hotel staff is exceptional and very helpful as he help check us in and brought our luggage to the room.
Small elevator so it took two trips (first with people only and the second with our bags).
We were able to walk into town for dinner.
Room was spacious for 3 people.
Great place, great host. Very central in Salerno. All great eating places are 5-10 minutes walking. The seafront is 3 minutes walking. The port to take ferrys is 15 min. So location is super!
Very quite rooms. Super comfortable beds. Clean.
Nice bathroom.
Best part is they have AC and an elevator! Which most places in Italy don't. So it was great.
Host was really helpful for suggesting places to eat, booking a taxi etc.
Was really safe for single women alone.
Spacious apartment, wonderful host, best time in February to visit Amalfi coast, Pompei, etc. Residential environment, within 10 minutes walk to Salerno centro, comfortabel bed, lot of restaurants nearby. Just ask Carmen to get all information you need. Extraordinary sweet ialien breakfast.
Equipment of the kitchen is low standard. But it is not important except you want to prepare dinner. There a lot of good pizzerie, trattorie or ristorante nearby.
If you want to stay in the heart of Salerno this place is for you , Near train station so you are always able to go and went back on time. President apartment has a lovely balcony and very good isolation if you wantr sleep in middle of day. The host lady Amelia was more than a polite, she was always there if you need something . It was very nice to stay here . You have and great breakfast with true Italian cofee . I can say only positive words.
We go to Salerno at least a couple times of year when visiting with my cousins who live in a nearby town. We have often admired THE CRESCENT since it opened last year and decided we'd stay there on our next trip. When we found a site on Booking we decided to try it. I spent 4 years rating hotels and restaurants so perhaps, while my review might be very critical, it is accurate. Know the facts before deciding to book.
Best place I stayed during my visit. Hosts were lovely and helpful.
Room was with hotel quality but airbnb flexibility. It had kitchen corner with all facilities, large table and tea set. On balcony was possibility to dry laundry which was really needed at that point. TV enabled to connect to Netflix and other platforms.
Massimo gave excellent Salerno tips, and even voucher for beach bar which was also great place.
The location is great within Salerno, close to the main pedestrian road and the Lungomare, but on a quite little street. The room had view at the Roman Aqueduct. The staff was nice and helped us, though they didn't speak good english. Breakfast was italian: coffee and a sweet pastry product, but the quality was good.
The only thing is the soundproof typical in most Italy; a pair of earplugs will solve it.
The hotel is located in a pedestrian street in the center of Salerno, a 10-minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes from the cathedral and 5 minutes from the coast. Lot of shops around.
I had a room with a terrace and there was a kettle with tea and coffee. The room was clean and tidy.
There is a bidet in the bathroom.
The breakfast was good.
The owner is great
Free parking on a nearby street. You can stop right at the entrance for some time to move luggage
A supermarket nearby
Walking distance to the beach, great restaurants and ice cream places
Everything we needed was there and ready. Probably the best place we slept at during our Italy roadtrip
A quaint hotel in Salerno. The rooms transport you away from the maddening crowds. The air conditioning was a welcome relief after a day out in the hot Italy sun. I was very welcomed by Massimo and the breakfast bar not far were also friendly and welcoming. I would recommend staying here.
Bed was super comfy and the shower was really nice even though the drain needed to be cleaned. Awesome location so close to the train station and very walkable to all the restaurants. Go to Mama Rosa’s and Punto Freddos gelato! Best gelato in Italy and the most affordable as well.
The location is perfect for bus, train or ferry stop or for exploring salerno. The access to the room/hotel wasvery confortable because it doesn't require you to take a key around. The hosts are very forthcoming and write back immediatelly if questions arise.
The hotel is close to Salerno station and was easy to find. Our room was really clean and comfortable with a terrace and furnished in a modern style. The facilities were in great condition and it was nice to have a smart TV in the room.
This was our favorite stay of 8 different hotels across Italy. Elena took fantastic care of us. It’s a short hike uphill from city center, but worth every step for the amazing views. 11 out of 10!
Lovely plavce in a great location. Some nearby onstreet parking at a relativly resonable rate for this part of Italy which was welcome. Nice little breakfast in the monring. Very easy check-in.
